Sports Medicine for Rehabilitation LAB Arsenio Veicsteinas (LAMSAV) - Milano
The research at LAMSAV focuses on the physiology of physical exercise in both disabled and able-bodied individuals, analyzing metabolic, respiratory, and cardiocirculatory adaptations.
The research activity includes:
- studying blood pressure responses to postural changes to prevent falls in the elderly and patients with postural intolerance;
- investigating the effects of continuous training in chronic conditions such as multiple sclerosis, HIV, paraplegia, and Down Syndrome Lastly;
- examining autonomic nervous system responses to training in athletes and rehabilitation in various pathologies through heart rate and blood pressure variability, as well as thermoregulatory adaptations to physical exercise using wearable sensors.
