Fondazione Don Gnocchi ONLUS (FDG) is a non-profit, private foundation, established in 1952 for the care of children that were severely wounded during World War 2. For over seventy years, Fondazione Don Gnocchi has continued to provide innovative and experimental solutions to the emerging needs of most fragile patients. Services are accredited through the National Health Service, in 28 centers distributed over 9 Italian regions.
Recognized Scientific Research and Care Institute (IRCCS) in 1991 by the Italian Ministry of Health, Fondazione Don Gnocchi now employs more than 6.000 people and provides a wide variety of health care services that meet different needs: rehabilitation, treating post-acute patients during recovery or patients with chronic conditions. Our institute focuses on multidisciplinary approaches, which involve the application of biomedicine, biotechnology and clinical trials, as well as research into new methods and technologies, including the use of artificial intelligence. Our primary aim is to help our patients overcome any disability-related deficits with the ultimate goal of improving their quality of life.
The enhancement of facilities, the increase in skilled employees and the acquisition of increasingly innovative equipment, including rehabilitative robotics and tele-rehabilitation, have fostered the continuous improvement and development of research and technological innovation at Fondazione Don Gnocchi ONLUS in the rehabilitation field.
