Laboratory of Nanomedicine and Clinical Biophotonics - Milano

The Laboratory of Nanomedicine and Clinical Biophotonics (LABION) is engaged in research activities aimed at:

  • the development and translation of innovative methods based on nanotechnologies and biophotonics for biomarkers discovery in diagnosis;
  • monitoring of neurodegenerative, cerebrovascular, respiratory, and cardiovascular diseases.

The research activity is focussed on the non-invasive detection of complex biomarkers for studying rehabilitation (rehabilomics) and regeneration effects after pharmacological and rehabilitative treatment with the main outcome of personalization and optimization of the therapeutic plan.

The strengths of the laboratory are cutting-edge instrumentations, interdisciplinarity, and internationalization, such as membership in the Board of the European Technology Platform of Nanomedicine, the International Consortium for Regenerative Rehabilitation, and the Italian Society for Extracellular Vesicles.
